  • Planting in low-lying, poorly drained sites—roots suffer in prolonged wetness.
  • Neglecting young-tree irrigation—establishment failures often follow dry first seasons.
  • Allowing canopy to become extremely dense—leads to pest/disease build-up and poor fruit quality.
  • Ignoring market preferences—grow the type buyers want (sweet vs firm, fruit size).
