Before you sow

Answer five questions and get a dated document that says whether to sow this, what has to be true for the economics to work, and how much you have to harvest before the season stops costing you money. Every number in it names where it came from, so you can argue with it.

No district climate records are loaded on this site yet, so the heat, rainfall and water-balance checks will report as not run rather than guessing. Everything else works — including the break-even yield, which needs no climate data at all.

The economics — this is where the break-even comes from

Soil and spacing — each one unlocks a check
