  • Prefer locations that receive full sun (minimum 7–8 hours daily) during the growing season; morning sun helps dry dew and reduce disease pressure.
  • Grapes tolerate a wide range of temperatures, but avoid sites with prolonged high humidity and poor air circulation—these favor fungal disease.
  • Access to reliable irrigation is essential. Monsoon provides water at a time when young shoots may not need extra irrigation, but dry-season irrigation is critical for fruit development and quality.

Soil type and preparation
