Why consider macadamia in Tripura?

Macadamia is an evergreen tree crop that produces a high-value kernel used in snacks, confectionery and oil. Tripura’s humid-subtropical climate with abundant rainfall can suit macadamia if you select the right site, manage soil drainage and control fungal disease pressure. Climate and soil requirements

  • Temperature: Macadamia prefers mild, frost-free conditions. Optimal growth is in areas with mean temperatures of 16–25°C. Young trees are sensitive to waterlogging and hard frosts.
