Why grow soapnut (reetha) in Himachal?

Soapnut (commonly called reetha) is a small tree valued for its fruit, which contains natural saponins used as a detergent, shampoo and in eco-friendly cleaning products. In Himachal Pradesh, mid-hill zones offer suitable elevation and climate for soapnut, especially in drier south- and west-facing slopes that get warm summers and cool winters.
