  • Temperature: Wasabi prefers cool conditions. Aim for average temperatures that remain relatively mild; extreme heat will reduce quality and vigor.
  • Shade: Plants require filtered light or 60–90% shade. Planting under a tall tree canopy or using shade nets (60–80%) reduces sun scorch and maintains leaf quality.
