Why Eisenia fetida for Guntur?

Eisenia fetida (red wiggler) is the most commonly used species for vermicomposting worldwide. It tolerates handling, processes a wide range of organic wastes and produces a stable high-quality vermicompost. In Guntur’s hot, semi-tropical environment it performs well if you control heat, moisture and predators.

Site selection and basic infrastructure

Choose a shaded, ventilated location close to water and the source of raw materials (cattle yards, market waste, food-processing units). Key considerations:
