  • Biosecurity: restrict visitors, disinfect equipment, and avoid introducing wild fish into the system.
  • Stress reduction: avoid sudden changes in feed, water chemistry, or large handling events during hot weather.
  • Common problems: gill issues from poor DO, bacterial infections with poor hygiene, and parasites from contaminated fingerlings. Early detection and isolation are vital.
  • Therapeutics: consult local aquaculture vets or extension services for approved treatments. Avoid indiscriminate antibiotic use.
