Why grow raw banana (plantain) in Himachal?
Raw bananas or plantains are a profitable, high-yielding horticultural crop when adapted to the local climate and managed for soil health, irrigation and pests. In Himachal Pradesh, growers near lower elevation valleys and river terraces can succeed by choosing cold-tolerant selections, protecting plants from frost and following practices that reduce disease pressure.
