  • Trial plantings: Start with demonstration plots or mixed land uses (agroforestry) to test site suitability and management approaches before converting large areas.
  • Multi-use options: During the establishment phase you can intercrop shallow-rooted crops, pasture, or bee forage under young trees, but maintain low competition for water. Agroforestry can provide early income and reduce financial pressure.
