From our crop reference
Parsnip is a vegetable crop, grown in the rabi season. Sow it in Sep–Oct and expect to harvest in 120–160 days. It wants a pH of 6.0–7.5 (close to neutral) and 8–20°C. Plant at 40 × 10 cm, allowing 4–5 kg of seed per hectare. A good crop returns around 20–30 t. Watch for canker, carrot fly.
