Cucumber

The fastest, thirstiest crop on this list, and the one least tolerant of generative punishment: a cucumber that is stressed does not set smaller fruit, it aborts the fruit entirely and you find out four days later. Steering range is deliberately narrow at the generative end. Water use per unit light on a mature cucumber crop is the single most useful health signal in the whole module — it falls before anything is visible.

Species
Cucumis sativus
System
Drip — rockwool, coco or Dutch bucket
Version
1.0.0
Provenance
Parthenocarpic polyhouse cucumber practice, with irrigation frequency raised over the Dutch baseline because Indian summer transpiration on this crop is extreme.

What kills this system: Runoff volume per shot and a substrate water-content floor. A clogged emitter shows up as runoff that stops arriving.

The Cucumber profile is a paid crop pack. The bands, the irrigation phases and the reasoning are in the file; what is below is the shape of it.

Every band on this site is a literature-derived starting point. None of them has been measured on your water, your cultivar or your polyhouse, and the variable that decides most of it — the alkalinity of what comes out of your borewell — is one this page cannot know. Validate on a small block before you commit a season.
