Cabbage is a vegetable crop, grown in the rabi season. Sow it in Sep–Oct and expect to harvest in 90–120 days. It wants a pH of 6.0–6.5 (slightly acid) and 15–21°C. Plant at 45 × 45 cm, allowing 400–500 g of seed per hectare. A good crop returns around 25–35 t. Watch for diamondback moth, black rot.
